This Championship is enabling us to represent the State of Florida as State Champions in the Region III Championships in Decatur, Alabama on June 9th-12th. There we will encounter teams from Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas etc.... After winning the Region Cup we were drawn to play the Boynton Beach Knights in the semi-final who had beaten us twice during the regular season. The boys really came back with vengeance and beat the team from the East Coast by a score of 3:2. In the final we were facing the Tallahassee United Futbol Club. At half-time we were leading 2-0. After the first half we lost our concentration and conceded two goals which tied the game 2:2 and that is how the game ended even after over time. In a dramatic penalty shoot out our team was able to outshoot and out save the team from North Florida with 3:2 and therefore crowned President's Cup Champions 2011. The boys have done an outstanding job this season and have shown that it takes a little bit more than just a fancy name to be successful.

Region Cup Champions in Division 1
The last few months have been a very difficult time for this team while competing in the top flight in the South Florida United (Miami) league. Despite their tremendous developmental progress throughout the season – reward and glory kept their distance, which put a lot of pressure on the team - on as well off the field. Needless to say that this Championship stands for what I always believed in – even during the difficult times. And that is the believe in these boys progress and ability.
They peaked just at right time. Unbeaten throughout the entire competition the boys earned their way into the final leaving teams like Gulf Coast United, West Pasco, HC United and Auburndale Youth Soccer Club behind them. In the final they encountered our Neighbor the Cape Coral Cyclones. It was a very proud moment for both teams as they were representing SWFL so far from home. This is just another indication that our area is doing the right thing and teams can be competitive with the rest of Florida. In the end our boys crossed the finish line with a 3 : 1 victory over CCSA and deservedly claimed the title "Region Cup Champions".
