Coaches Area

Lee County Strikers offer a fantastic professional program. We have professional training staff who work full time within the club and also professional trainers who come in to help train our teams and educate our volunteer coaches.

We are always looking for the most experenced and qualfied coaches to be in our program so we can help the development of our players as much as possible. This is why we have an application process for our volunteer coaches so that our professionals can choose the most qualified person for each team.

If you are interested in coaching at Lee County Strikers, please contact Robert Peltram and fill out a coaching application.

We also offer coaching clinics and Robert Peltram one of our professional Directors and trainers holds USSF courses within the South West Florida Region. These courses will be updated in this area.

Coaches

Coaches are volunteers and must apply for a Coaching position each year. Coaches are selected by the Director of Coaching and approved by the Board. Qualities that Coaches are selected for include; knowledge of the game, ability to relate to and motivate players, willingness to commit the necessary time and energy to running a team, willingness to learn and improve, willingness to follow and comply with the philosophy of the Program and Director of Coaching. A winning record is not always the best indication of a good coach. More importantly is how well the coach is able to develop the players.

Coaching duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Sporting management and delivery of coaching sessions for a designated team as directed by the Director of Coaching
  • The Coach will be expected to attend all games and Training Sessions for the designated team
  • The coach will be expected to participate in any further educational event provided by the club
  • The coach will be expected to attend mandatory Coaches Meetings on a regular basis
  • Set and enforce a standard of behavior for players, coaches and parents/spectators in accordance with the FYSA code of ethics
  • Take care of or assign a team parent or manager to take care of day-to-day paper work and team needs
  • Make sure all players on the team are picked up after practices and games
  • Hold team meetings as needed
  • Participates in team tryouts
  • Love soccer and working with children

In order to avoid conflicts in interest and to maintain loyalty and integrity to the Program, a Coach will not be allowed to be affiliated in any form or manner with any other Club without approval of the Director of Coaching and the Board.

The Coaches will work close together and put the interest of the player always first. Maintaining good communication will be a necessity to ensure the success of the entire program. Any changes to the teams need to be approved by the club.
